Children's Service

The Children’s Service provides support for children with additional needs aged 0- 18 and their families in the
High Peak.

We try to provide a flexible service with a variety of different support opportunities. Our trained and police checked staff will care for children in the home, take them out on trips or support them at activities in the community, according to the needs and wishes of the children and their families.

We also run a weekly after school club for the younger children (5-12 years) and support some of the older children at a local youth club.  Activities for the children are organised during some of the school holidays.

The service is funded by Derbyshire Social Services and the Children’s Fund.

Referrals usually come through social services, although we do accept referrals from other agencies and from parents/carers.
Depending on demand there may be a waiting list.

The Children's service provides:

  • staff trained in child protection
  • staff who have a satisfactory disclosure from the criminal records bureau
